Who could say no?

Got an invite to stay in one of the apartments below in Cornwall for the weekend. Who can say no to an invite like that?

Ouch!

Had a run in with a door Friday, by Sunday night this what it looked like as I waited in the ER where I went for some relief. Note to self, the day of the London Marathon is not a good day to go to the ER.

Show me the Money!

This is where you live if you have lots of money.

Or here in what looks like a cottage in the country side, but if you look behind it, it is actually in the middle of the city!

The Secret Garden of Kensington

On a walking tour of Kensington I took on Thursday we were brought to the garden shown in the pictures.

Now what makes this public garden hard to find and therefor not very well known is it is on the top of a building 6 floors up! Here you can see the wildlife that lives there (yes they are real flamingos).

Here is the Mediterranean section. It's my favorite.

See the steeple in the background, it is the highest free standing steeple in London. See it really is 6 floors up! Amazing place, very peaceful yet right in the middle of everything on Kensington High street, so now I have a place to go when I need a rest from shopping =)

Lunch at the British Museum

Wednesday I did some wandering, and ended up at the British Museum. Where I ate lunch here:

Then I took a look around inside (I have been before). It's massive so it would take a few visits to get to see all of it.

This is the Greek Hall.

Nice streets, and streets to avoid!

Some more phots as I walk around.

They do this to the trees in France, I have yet to find out what it is about.

This is Oxford street, to give you an idea of the crowds there, I try and avoid it.

My day as a tourist and I forgot my real camera...sorry

Spent the afternoon with Trevor an Australian who also has just relocated here to London as of last week. We played tourist and took a walk along the Thames. It was a lovely sunny 20C, sorry for those in Halifax shoveling snow, I'm not trying to rub it in, really! Anyway here are some shots with my phone camera (because I forgot my real one).
The London Eye, I haven't been on it yet.

Westminster, the Parliament buildings with Big Ben (the clock at the right).

I am really here! Me and Tower Bridge. You can't tell but I'm wearing shorts.

Piccadilly - Normally to be avoided if possible due to the hoards of tourists.

Oh ya did I mention it's sunny?

Life on Lime Grove

Here is a picture of the front of the flat. We are the Garden Flat so it is the window under the main window, the one down the flight of stairs. It gets a ton of light and my bedroom window (which will soon be a door to the garden) faces south so I get the sun all morning.

Yesterday Nathalie (my flatmate) and I got the wifi set up so we could be outside while online. Gotta love technology. Today I spent the morning and early afternoon enjoying the sun and warm weather in the Garden where there will soon be a hot tub! Anyone coming for a visit?

On the walk to the grocery store. The area is called Sheppards Bush/Hammersmith.
